This morning, I got the last needed items to start assembling the furler.
Rokko, a US sailor with experience in furlers, gave us a hand. So the furler was assembled in a few hours. We also test mounted the drum and remove it again. With a comment from Rokko , I could identify the hole for the furler line.
I had to make the furler line at its beginning a bit thinner and now it’s attached to a half part of the drum and will be te-attached after the forestay and furler is mounted again at MaRe.
If the wind permits we will do the mounting tomorrow.
Despite very careful preparations, I have to admit that I’m still nervous about the mounting work ahead.
