Starting at 0400 this morning MaRe was adrift with all sails down.
We were busy with plenty of small tasks. Tobi even tried jigging, a special way of fishing.
We watched a pod of smaller wales, looking like big dolphins, hunting and becoming curious enough about MaRe to swim around her.
At 1700, after 13 h, the wind appeared to be stable enough, both in direction and speed, to start sailing. First we sailed on the STB tack, but the wind started changing to W. We tacked. Wind got weaker and weaker. After dinner we furled the genoa, started the PRT engine to charge batteries and push MaRe a bit forward. After doing this for an hour the wind increased and stabilized from NW. We started sailing again.
At about 2145 I got up because I couldn’t sleep anymore.
Only minutes later the wind increased. 7, 8 , 9, 10 KN. Sometimes up to 14 KN. We got a dark cloud above us. When I looked at the night sky, I saw a string of 4 – 5 of these dark clouds. I hope we get all of them.
Since quite a while the SuperWind turbine started charging the batteries.
I’m sitting in the cockpit and feel the wind blowing on me and being the right propulsion for MaRe. She finally can run again and is happy about it.
And me ŧoo!
