Since we left Puerto Calero, we do some slow sailing. The day before yesterday we even took run me for sail training.

Last night we stayed at a very small but friendly marina in Puerto de la Rosario.

We are less then 5 NM away from the marina and moving slowly with idling engines towards the marina. We enter only when we have enough daylight.

Running with engines and genoa turned out to be a successful tactics. Genoa picked any wind available and pushed is forwards. We will arrive at marina Puerto Calero in the morning hours.

Saw possibly a boat with migrants in a position indicated by radio Aricife. According to radio Aricife there are 36 people in q small boat adrift. A motor vessel assisted already.

Wind forecasts seems to be stable, v thus, ETA will be stable. ETA: 211014/0700.

Will use engines and genoa too make it to Puerto Calero until the 13th. I need a STW of more than 7 KN.

…wind down, sail down, wind up,…. The game of the day.

… Lasted not long. At about 2230 wind was down so much that the autopilot could not keep the course anymore. Engines started running and are running still now.

At 1945 we had 3 Bft abeam at STB and set main. Hopefully this wind does not die again but increases n to 4 – 5 Bft.

… and I’m happy about a half a KN speed increase. But still hope for the 10 KN wind from NW.

… and not run with a motorboat to the Canaries. Tried sailing again. We make 4 – 5 KN STW and it is quiet.
