240709 WET!

Yesterday, we went to Marina Taina to dock the dinghy there and check out the possibility to do provisioning there.

Maybe we even drop the hook for a day or two outside the Marina for doing provisioning.

The possible anchorage is pretty good but a bit full. It might be difficult to find a spot there. Need to cook this thought in my brain.

Carrefour is the best place to do provisioning. The possibility to use their shopping carts to bring the stuff into the marina to load them in to the dinghy is perfect.

Thus, yesterday we bought the first load of provisions. We also got a good feeling what we can load into the tender.

All was fine until we got out of the marina. 5 Bft winds on the nose. Mostly we had about 30 – 40 cm waves but closer to MaRe the wave height increased to 50 – 60 cm.

As I forgot to put my cap into my backpack, we even had to make a cap-over-board maneuver. Successful!

With almost every second wave on 4 km run we got some spray over. At the end we had quite some water in the dinghy and no dry spot on our bodies. We were simply WET!

After changing clothes we started preparing the groceries for storing. All papers were removed and the content was written on the cans. Some things like rice, pasta, nuts were filled into the 5 l water bottles. These bottles are good for storing groceries and are insect safe.

Today, we have to do errands in Pape’ete and hope the wind doesn’t blow in the afternoon from S. Then we should have a dry run home. We’ll see.
