Are you patient?
If not, go on a sailboat and cross the equator, thus the doldrums. Whenever we look at our position we see we move further NE, the opposite direction of where we need to go.
When I look at the sea surface, I try to estimate if the areas with ripples increased. But then I have to recognize that there are still large glassy patches in between.
At the Axiom MFD I opened now a double window. Left half is the normal chart, right half is a dashboard screen with only 1 figure in a very big font in it: TWS, the true wind speed.
Whenever I look at it my eyes remain there for a little while, and my brain registers the numbers to be seen. 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5…
Horray! The wind is coming back!
… 3.6, 3.7, 2.9, 2.8, 2.7,… BIG disappoinment!!!
So what can we do?
Exercise patience!
Can I stay calm and practice patience until the wind comes back?
