Although we have now 15 KN wind, AWA 25 – 35 deg PRT, and the genoa gives us with the engines sometimes even 7 KN, I decided to take the first possible anchorage of the San Blas archipelago. This is between 2 islands of the Chichime Cays. I hope that there is still some space for MaRe.

The island are to be seen already, but still to far away to see yachts.

Sea is not as choppy anymore as it was in the morning. Swell is now down to about a meter and 50 m long and runs from about 60 deg PRT on to MaRe.

The entry to the anchorage I plotted with WPT taken from the Bauhaus Panama Guide. An excellent guide book, my OBM brought along when she came to Havana. In the Boca’s del Toro and in the San Blas archipelago these are the only maps to rely on. Navionics maps can only be used in the broad channels between island groups, not between islands.

Wal & Kar are both having a nap. I’m enjoying writing this narration, watching the blue sea, it’s waves with still some white horses on them.

In the meantime, we have reach the 20 m depth area of the NW entry channel into the San Blas archipelago. At about 1600 we shall reach the first WPT of the entry channel into the Chichime Cays. An hour later MaRe should be enjoying being secured hanging at the 45 kg ROCNA anchor.
