In the early afternoon we saw a huge cloud and squall coming towards MaRe and we prepared ourselves. MaRe was already in the safe state with reef 2 in the main sail. But we put on our foul weather great to not get completely wet again.<\/p>\n
Then the wind increased and MaRe increased her speed as well, thus we went on with a SOG of a bit above 6 KN in peak. However, the rain did not come. The cloud was sufficiently away from us to give us wind for speed but did not dump rain on us. We kept sailing like this for more than an hour. Wonderful. Higher wind speed but no rain.<\/p>\n
But later we also got a bit rain. Well protected in our clothes we did not get wet at all.<\/p>\n
The down side of any squall ride is always coming at the end. The winds goes down, but the waves stay high for a while more. This then is a bumpy ride.<\/p>\n
In summary we had a nice squall ride and made some miles!<\/p>\n
What will the night bring us?<\/p>\n
