After a few days in the marina, during which we got the gennaker repaired, we are out again. Wind of 3 – 4 Bft straight on our nose. In about 1 – 2 NM change heading to W and sail to Tenerife.

Unusual track
The unusual track just outside of Las Palmas is due to a daysail we did. 3 upwind tacks and a final comfortable downwind run into the harbor entrance.
It was the final day on board of MaRe for friends who sailed with us for a week. -
Gennaker
On Monday I get my gennaker repaired. Thus we will start sailing on Tuesday. Could become an interesting route

Forecasts are sometimes
…fortunately wrong¡
We expected a day using the engines but since more than an hours we are sailing 4 – 5 Bft TWS from 150 deg PRT only with the genoa along the Costa de Calma. Please wind keep going.
-
Same today
Today we sailed at slow speed about 4 NM.
Where is the wind of the Canary Islands? The 5 and 6 Bft winds?
Hope we get it when sailing from Fuerte Ventura to Gran Canaria.

Slow sailing
Since we left Puerto Calero, we do some slow sailing. The day before yesterday we even took run me for sail training.
Last night we stayed at a very small but friendly marina in Puerto de la Rosario.
-
We made it a bit earlier
We are less then 5 NM away from the marina and moving slowly with idling engines towards the marina. We enter only when we have enough daylight.
-
We made good progress
Running with engines and genoa turned out to be a successful tactics. Genoa picked any wind available and pushed is forwards. We will arrive at marina Puerto Calero in the morning hours.
Saw possibly a boat with migrants in a position indicated by radio Aricife. According to radio Aricife there are 36 people in q small boat adrift. A motor vessel assisted already.
